I ordered a National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass for this year. We plan on visiting quite a few of them this summer and fall.

When was the last time you saw a receipt using continuous feed paper from the 70's and 80's? Well what do you know! Its still in use from our National Park System! Grumble grumble

What's unreasonable about that? They are still working and usable so why not use up all the paper from other government branches? I fear your signature say a lot about why you are grumbling.

Need I mention I have several reams of colored continuous feed paper from a past life. Works especially well for banners.

I still have boxes of that paper and the printer to run it in.
Why not use up what you have instead of changing for the sake of change?????

THANX RICH

Hey Murphysranch, congrats on your Parks tour, I'm jealous! I'll be getting a National Parks pass too, since we visit Glacier (20 minutes away) and Yellowstone (9 hrs or so) every year. Just the entry fee at those 2 parks and the pass pays for itself. Let me know if you're visiting those and I can give you some tips!

Don't know what my signature says about me, except that I escaped San Jose to live the good life.

Oh and see the lower left hand corner notes? Also included in my $85 order were some additional materials, 4 of which are out of stock and won't be printed at all or won't be printed until a threshold number of orders are reached, yet there is no provision for back orders. We can give millions to foreign countries but we can't fund our national park system properly?

Our local National Reclamation project, New Melones, has a very small handful of rangers now due to budget cutbacks. Over 35K acres, to be governed by a few. Granted, there are fewer visitors since the lake is horribly low and only one makeshift launch is still open.

I'm still saying that our priorities on Federal spending can be misguided at times, and its just not about printers and paper.

"Escaped Silicon Valley" I'm guessing that for a while you THOUGHT you were living the good life with wireless laser printers and such. (I can't even imagine what could be found there.)

You are in the right place now, but old habits. . .

I agree, the park system may not the best place to begin making cuts in Government spending. It just may be the least squeaky cog in the National wheel.
