Meeting Other Gardeners on Craigslist

I know all the warnings about people from CL. In all the years I have been buying from CL I have only met great people. It might be the sections I look at Farm and Garden and Antique , I am sure the dating sections has a lot a weirdos. Yesterday I came across a ad large clumps of yellow or white iris $3. I love these type of ads, it means the plants do so well in this area, that they need to be divide. I wanted white and emailed asking if any white clumps where left. I was told everyone wanted the yellow, plenty of white left. I set up a pick up time after work. The address was in a middle class neighborhood, when I turned on the block I didn't even need to look at house numbers. House in middle of block had flower beds where most had lawn. The sellers where both in their 70s who enjoyed working in garden. Both husband and wife where the nicest people, I spent a hour visiting with them. Best part I left with 3 healthy large clumps of iris for $9.

There was a news article about a woman who discovered that someone placed a Craigs list ad in the personals, inviting anyone to come and do what ever they wanted to/with her while hubby videos.
She was devastated, is scared for her safety now, as the ad gave her address and name.
How angry would a person have to be at you to do something like that to you? Geeze! Or maybe they were mad at the husband?

I know a very nice lady.

Knew her when she was young and recently married to a friend. He was a smart, creative guy. Fun.

Kidding, I asked him one time how a sensible woman like her ended up with him. To set me straight, he told me that she once phoned in a bomb threat when she was in high school.

Her??!

She was in big trouble. Law enforcement sometimes can really turn people around and in a civilized society, it's always needed.

I am sure the personal section is full of crazy people. I would also be very careful when buying a car or other expensive item where you will have large sum of cash on you.People selling used lawn mowers and grandmothers dishes are usually safe. If sale is over a few hundred dollars I meet in public place.

I have a client who is normally very intelligent. Her dog died, she was heart broken hated going home to empty house. One day she calls me very happy, she was getting a puppy that night. When I started questing her red flags started popping up. She only had a email address for them, no phone number or house address. They where meeting her half way at a rest area, late at night. She had to pay cash for puppy $2,000. When I asked who was gong with her, she replied no one. I said Lois total stranger that you can't get in touch with wants you to go to rest area late at night with large sum of cash, you are not thinking straight. I sent her to a breeder I knew and she got a great puppy. Smart people can make bad decisions at times.

Yep when I started pointing out things she was like OMG. Biggest tip off was they did not want to give her their address.

I'm wary of stuff like that too, it really sucks but it's hard to trust anyone nowadays!!
I've only bought one thing off of CL, &'that was my chickens!
