Good morning all 20 degees outside right now. .... . waiting for the 40's today and the 50's for the week ahead. Heard on the news this morning that its going to be a warm wet spring. With more allergies and nasty flying insects. I'll deal with the warm and wet but, really don' t want to deal with the flies and sqeeters Always have alot of them anyways being located around a cedar swamp. Have a great day all

I live IN a cedar swamp so I know exactly what you mean! I hate coating myself daily in bug repellent but I seem to have no other choice, especially with those dang deer flies as they seem to bite through anything! :/ 25.7 here so far, and looks like a breeze has picked up, maybe it's bringing the heat? Temp was stuck just below 25 for hours it seemed. I hope it's not as wet as last year or my cool weather crops will be another dismal failure! I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Did you have to mention them deer flies They hurt when they bite ya On a happier note its 36 outside now.....getting closer an closer to the 40's but I'll be suprised if it gets there today.

Had a scare today...couldn't find my garden seeds, but then I found them Took me close to two hours searching for them. I knew I had put them in a safe place...so safe I forgot where I even looked in the chest freezer, because at one time I had thought to put them there.....

It finally hit the low 40's here. 42.4 for a high that lasted about 2 seconds, hovering around 41 for the past half hour. It's finally getting more snow to melt and the wind has died down somewhat, it's darned cold blowing across the snow out there! :/ But that same snow is getting tougher to walk on as it mushes up again. Still, they're saying 59 and sunny tomorrow. I'll just have to hope for 55. We seem to be perpetually 5 degrees under.

Oh look, it's back up to 42!

Just checked our temp 47 yeppers I said 47 I couldn't stand not having my hands in the dirt any longer. Went and dug out one of my large flower pots and planted some lettuce :tools Keeping it in the work room which has a very large south window. Now my itching for the dirt has subsided for a bit(I hope).

I'm thinking you're further south than Alpena, yes? Ain't no place to plant lettuce up here yet! However, yesterday's temp did get to 45 briefly, the sun was already going down behind the trees so it didn't help the melting very much. But at 6:30 this morning it was 42, in fact it was 42 when I went to bed last night so I don't think it got much lower than that and it's already 53 now. What I can't figure out is though I went back to bed right before 7 how did I mange to fall back asleep for another 2 hours?! That never happens. So much for lining my body up with daylight savings time!

Planted the lettuce in a large flower pot...inside the house and keeping it inside the house I'm actually NW of Alpena by 43 miles.....between Millersburg and Hawks. Still have lots and lots of snow on the ground but I can see some clear spots around the buildings Checking out the temp right now it is 62 wow can't believe it time to bow to the sun. Hope you are outside enjoying this wonderful day as that is where I am heading now.

Been out all day at my neighbor's. Their daughter brought their new puppy over so she and Ziggy could have a play date. They had a very good time.

The high here on the north side of the chicken coop was 62.4 and it's still 60.2. Finally came home because I do have to make dinner, those onions are not going to saute themselves!

Have you checked out the seed swap on BYC site? If you're interested on a few seeds and have some extra of your own it's kinda neat.

It would be nice if dinner would fix itself now wouldn't it? No such luck, can't even get DH to cook unless I'm sick Guess I could fake it

I made dinner. I got home a little after 5 from the doggy play date, and dinner was at 7:30.

Would be nice if someone cooked it for me. Oh wait, that's what restaurants are for. Oh wait, those only work if DH agrees to go.
