Michigan

Maybe it's one of their speciality wines or something......a special formulation & aging process. Can't say......all I know is that I like to drink the stuff! lol
It's good to drink what you like!

Don't have any gardening plans today. Have let the guineas and Mr Duck free range. Not letting momma and the kids out, the ducklings are too small and while Ziggy is pretty good about the adults, I think a fluffy bite size morsel could be too tempting. Besides which only one has made it up the ramp so far, took a turn about the pen, chased a guinea and went back inside to his siblings.

Another fun filled day outside in Michigans great north country. I have to keep reminding myself that this is only March and not to get to excited about the garden yet. Anyone else having that problem with this wonderful weather?

I want to rake out the flower beds and take care of the dead leaves and such but kinda worried if we do get another snow storm that they wouldn't be protected as well from the snow. There is some new growth already on some of the flowering plants :happy_flower (a very happy sign of spring)

My chicks are 5 weeks old now. We only have the chicks, so we let them out into the run yesterday and today. Boy can they take off. They look like a plane getting ready to take off. Run run run lift those legs :)

Good morning! May not post much today, with a 75 prediction and it's already 64, I may try digging up my veggie garden in preparation for good stuff!

Didn't get as much done today as I had planned. But thats just fine because I got to visit with my two year old grandson. He just loves my chicks. It was his first time seeing the new farm animals. He was scared of the cow and pigs. But just loves those chicks! I know who is going to be spoiling them when he's around. The snow is almost all gone. My maple syrup I made turned out great. It was the first time I've done it. Collected almost 2 gallons of sap and made about a cup of syrup! Life is good.

I dug up 12 square feet inside my veggie garden and the foot outside the fence on the 3 sides. Man that grass that spreads by runners is nasty stuff to remove! But I should be able to plant a bunch of snow peas tomorrow.

btw high at my house today was 77.5. It made the digging hot sweaty work. Usually it's 50 degrees when I'm doing this!

Just checked the 10 day forecast and no sign of winter returning in the next 10 days. Next weekend it's saying 55 and 59 but that is still warmer than average. The nights though will finally be dropping back into the 30s so I'm definitely not going to be putting out anything that can be damaged by frost. Probably wait a couple weeks before raking out the flower beds. But I am definitely planting snow peas today. Just not lettuce because it's too dang hot! :/ Crazy I tell you, crazy!

Can't believe this weather! 80 degrees right now! This is March, northern Michigan.....so weird. But I'm loven it :)

Had a high of 79.1 at my house but I think it may have been hotter, but I can't move the sensor as its attached to the one inside the coop. It's on the outside through the window. I did plant some snow peas today. I think I'm going to have to get out the garden hoses because there is no sign of rain for at least a week!

Husband got our hoses out yesterday. Sure beats having to carry milk jugs of water to the animals. Been tying the calf out on a rope these nice days. He likes it! Guess I'll have to train him to go on walks :) I actually have alot of new growth on my plants already. Sure hope we don't get anymore snow. Like you Swampducks, I'm not raking the dead growth off of any yet. Soooooo very tempting though.
