Thanks Kim... do you want to share that PLU link you had up over there too?

I just want to say, I think its healthy everyone can have a good disagreement sometimes. But if people would stop calling other people's information LIES or NOT FACT, I would appreciate it. Because a good arguement includes facts. And people saying "I believe" is not a fact... and facts aren't that because you say so, please share a quote or link to back it up.

If you haven't noticed that's my biggest pet peeve with that letter I received from the congressman... he dared say "scientific proof" and supplied NOTHING?!

Lets also keep on topic, title says Monsanto not slave labor or otherwise. You can start another thread if you desire... that's the joy of the site! If you have something you want to talk about, YOU CAN! :) Its free to pick people's minds and share your views. ENJOY!

What forum have you been on, because you aren't talking about this one! We point out hypocrisy wherever we find it...ESPECIALLY with the organic movement...which is why I haven't purchased anything manufactured by organic valley in months.

We are actively supporting open pollination, local small producers and farmer's markets. We also grow what we can ourselves.

We don't have to agree but your generalization is wrong. Sorry you just don't get it.
Monsanto is what Monsanto is but at least they don't purport to be anything except what they are, a company that produces and sells GMO seed and food.
Howerver when a food company claims to be supplying us with natural organic food and turns out to be lying to us they really need us to come down on them.

......the PLU code beginning with an 8 isn't actually in use. It was setup for produce, and no one uses it because they don't have to. It has nothing to do with the wide spread use of GM corn, soy, etc in canned and packaged foods.:

Those consumers who are concerned and want to protect ourselves simply want GMOs labeled. It remains that major corporations refuse to do so voluntarily because they know sales would plummet if they did provide the info.

A recommendation by the AAEM, documented by scientific studies, is good enough for me.

I was aware that most peope want GMO foods labeled but until I read some of those links I wasn't aware it was 9 out of 10. That's a whopping majority. Why don't we have the law? I guess because 53% say they would avoid GMO foods if they could identify them.
