Minimizing casualties when digging potatoes, and other questions

Thanks for fixing my boo-boo Steve! I didn't think to see if I linked it correctly.

I always manage to stab some. I just cut out the wound, and eat those spuds that night. I use my "gloved" hands when I can, to feel for them, but it often takes a fork to get down deep enough to get them all.

The shovel slices them. The fork pierces them. I usually can manage to feel for them, but sometimes I do need to upset the soil a bit.
