Mint cuttings not working well

All of those above will work. You must have clayish soil. My chocolate mint, peppermint and spearmint are exploding in my beds, in my acidic topsoil. EVEN I am considering pulling some of it up--yes, "I told you so" is probably in order!! :th
I gave my mom some of my chocolate mint, and she planted it in her clay soil, west facing bed. It is only a little bush, and hasn't spread in three years, whereas MY beds have tripled.
Perhaps you could replant by digging a big hole and planting your mint in 1/2 and 1/2 dirt and mulch? :idunno

I really like hoodat's idea. I think I might try it myself just to see how it works.
