I had some fresh Mozzarella in the fridge, so I bought a couple nice tomatoes, and picked a bunch of Basil from my garden and Voila, I made this...

The little white flowers are from Garlic Chives that are blooming in the garden now. I infused some Olive Oil with garlic, fresh rosemary and oregano to use as a dressing. It was a great hit at the congregation today. This week I will make more Pesto since I have so much Basil. About three weeks ago I cut back all the basil plants and made about three pints of pesto. All the plants are ready to cut back again! This has been a good year for Basil!

If you are wondering why I don't have my own tomatoes, well, I have never been able to grow decent tomatoes. Well, take that back, I can grow the small yellow pear tomatoes here. But it is just TOO HOT here, and the poor tomatoes split and and get horrible looking this time of year.

I can't grow basil for the life of me. I had three plants this year than just don't make it. I thought it was getting too much sun but then I researched that it love sun so now I am out of ideas. I did love what I got though

Beautiful loking plate of food Rebbetzim :frow

Do you put capers on your "Caprese" HiDelight? If not try it as it just adds that slight sourness which gives it the edge.

Have a good week everyone -- it's a Bank Holiday here today ! :D
