There is a broad range of pepper varieties - should be enuf for everyone! If one won't work for you, I bet there are 3 more that will.

Age of the seed makes a difference for germination. I suppose that comes as no surprise to anyone. I had a fair amount of last year's seed this time and some were just tragically slow in sprouting! It was actually worse with the eggplant but that's always true with eggplant .

Oh those are gorgeous. Now I have "pepper envy"!

I am just getting the last of my pepper seedlings (which I started myself in the house for the first time ever) into the ground today. I waited a while because the weather here has been so hinky this past year, plus we had spring rainfall on our days off every all but 2 times for about 2 months. I hope that my peppers are at least half as beautiful as yours! Those are mouth-watering.

I have purple sweet bell, sweet cayenne, California wonder bell, and a hot pepper mix (5 different types of seeds mixed up in a variety pack -- dunno what I'm gonna get but includes habaneros, jalapenos, thai chilis, pablanos, and hot banana peppers).

In addition to the ones I've harvested in the pic, I also have hot cherry peppers, hot Caribean, red and yellow bells, and pimento. I know the hot cherries do very well here, I planted them last year and they did amazing.

Beautiful! Poblanos are just right for me, but I can't seem to manage peppers from seed and I never find the small plants for them around here.

For those that asked the pablanos are tiberon, I couldn't find the green bell tag, the yellow and red which are doing just as good as the green are early sunsation and karma.

Hooray Kass! I'm so happy they've produced so early. It must have been the mild winter, and hot spring. I have flowers on all my peppers (except my thai chilis) and I did find 2 small peppers on 1 bell pepper plant. So its a good sign of an early season.

Nothing shows success like a good pepper!!!

Hot cherry peppers are very popular where I live. They are the ones we see most at Farmer's Markets. I bet home raised ones are very tasty. I think I will try to raise them in 2013.

Wow they are producing on short stems...last year my peppers grew to 3 foot but only a few fruits...
This year they are still just seedling which I hope to get into the ground by this weekend...
