My first pickles

I made mixed veggie pickles today. I didn't realize that radishes would turn everything pink. Now I just have to make my hubby stay out of them for a couple of weeks so that they can get "pickle-y" enough.

I made almost a gallon of refrigerator pickles last night with my mini white cuc's! They are delish!!!
First time growing mini whites, and I'm thrilled with them!
Well, not true ... tried growing them last year, but the drought fried them before they produced a cuc.

I hope they are good. If your husband can't stay out of them, that would be a sign that they are good, right?

There must be a knack to pickling. I couldn't do it. Might just not have followed a recipe closely enuf. I was told by one guy that "they pretty well make themselves." Telling me how he does a couple kinds of sauerkraut, too. Yeah. . . this guy knows how to make cheese! Some people get all the talent . . . then, there's the rest of us.

I have never tasted a pickled Radish though. It's gotta be good!

I've never tried them, but it sounds good to hubby, so I did it. Gotta keep the man who does all the heavy lifting and digging happy, ya know!
