My Home Depot Clearance Items

I never shop at Homo-Depot because they will not let me use someone else's debit card there. Bummer!

So instead I typically shop at 'Southerlands', 'McCoy's', and 'Lowes'. I went to Lowes today and they were trucking in the Norfolk pines from Homestead, Florida. None of the existing plants or trees were priced down yet; I asked the clerk but she looked at me like it was a secret as to when the big 'Sale' happens, but she did slip that things like grapes and other such things are considered 'credit' by the current growers and what they do not sell they get 'credit' for. What a terrible concept! Uggh! :barnie

Oh Well., I am happy you got such a great deal for your Blueberries, I am so used to seeing them on much more compact plants.

Ron :thumbsup

Nice find! The ones I bought in the spring were $10 each from Wallyworld! And all 3 croaked :/

I wish we had a Home Depot closer so I could go check out their clearanced stuff but perhaps it's good we don't - we are already broke enough without me spending money we don't have....lol

My blueberries were free in the spring, and ended up dying. However, we found out the killer was actually a mole (or vole?) that tore up and ate the roots! It killed my grape vine too!!! I was PISSED!!!

So I think it is super smart to try these in fall. I bet you will be really pleased come spring :)

I have never really found anything at Home Depot but they do have a lot of indoor plants. But lowes hjad a bunch of stuff I got. If any of you remember, I went and got some bearded iris and onions, the onions are about six inches tall, and the iris are starting to grow, but there going kinda slow.

home depot here does the credit thing. they have racks of dying plants outside but you cant buy them or rescue them.

lowes on the other hand has amazing plants for nothing. i usually go right before it gets cold and pick up 9 dollar sago palms for 1$. if i buy anything anymore, i get it off the clearance rack.

Sorry you lost your blueberries and grapes vfem. Them varmints!!! :rant

We have highbush and lowbush blueberries that grow wild around the lake behind our house.... in the winter, rabbits (or maybe deer too? :idunno ) will really go after the younger stalks/branches...when I hike around I usually see some of the young reddish stalks gnawed off, sometimes pretty close to the ground! :/

I thought I would say that Wallyworld will refund your money for those plants! My sister saved all of her garden receipts. Months later when some of the plants died she yanked them up put them in a bag and got all of her money back!
