I need help identifying this:

original.jpg

It's a small tree with multiple trunks. The fruit hangs behind/under the leaves, so I turned the branch over for the picture.

The photo shows the underside of most of the leaves. You can see the pattern of the one in the middle that's turned towards the camera.

The biggest fruit is maybe thumbnail sized, with creases.

I need to find out what it is and whether it's poisonous to horses.

Thanks!

I wish I was more help, looks like it could be a type of fig or wild plum to me. :( But I am not sure until they are ripe.

The fruit looks like a quince but the leaf shape isn't quite right for that.

Definitely not a plum. I took a knife to the fruit, and it's actually a seed pod with three white seeds inside. The sap where the stem attaches to the fruit is milky white.

Here are some better pics of the tree, bark, leaves and fruit:

It is a chinese crested something. Very invasive in SE Louisiana. I have like three on my lot.

I think obsessed is talking about a chinese tallow tree. Looks like a pretty good match to me!
