too late to be any help... but we make piles of these every Christmas :

Get a box of bread machine mix and mix the dough according to the package directions for oven baking.
Roll out the dough into a long rectangle.
Down the center of the dough, spread a little bit of dressing (blue cheese or sweet vidalia onion work well) - staying about 2" from teh edges
On the dressing, spread a layer of lunch meat
On the meat, spread a layer of cheese
Cut those 2" wide dough margins into 'finge' of strips about 1" wide each.
Fold all those little strips over the meat/cheese and twist or weave the tips together
Bake till golden brown - cool - wrap in foil and tie with a bow.

Take these things you might use as a stuffing, place in a pan.

Add broth. Bring to a boil.

Add spoonfuls of biscuit dough and simmer for awhile ... I'll do this today with leftover chili I made Saturday.

I love pasties. There is a bakery about 20 minutes away that sells them for $5. I always buy one for each of us. My son likes the hamburger and potatoe one and I like the mushroom and potatoe. They are made with a very buttery pie crust dough that is just delicious!
