New baby chicks

There are 6 chicks, and seem to be fully feathered now.

If it were not for my cats my 5, 2 week old chicks would be outside during the day. They are very comfortable in the little chick house with the bulb on. The temps have not yet dropped at night-no frost. I feel confident that they will be safe.

I have 7 new chicks. They are mostly lavender orpingtons but, I left a silver laced wyandotte and a red blue laced wyandotte in with the lavenders. The 3 black chicks are a cross from one of those. I am thinking they will be a gorgeous cross. If you look back to October on this post you will see my Grandson not liking the chicks. It is a different story now that he is 15 months old. If fact he threw himself on the floor and had a big crying fit when I put them away.
