Things are still moving along! The roof was delivered on the 4th, so hopefully that will be on soon! Geothermal is set to come this week. Brick guys are supposed to come next week. FIL is coming out today to help DH start running wire.

Deck will go here, with a walkout below (and hopefully a hot tub someday!)

My favorite thing so far: the glass in the front door!

Basement is now all framed out! There will be a wet bar here. :)

This all looks like so much fun, Kate'!

I know that it must be nerve-wracking at times but just do your best to stay calm and carry on.

My construction projects have never risen above the cabin I built 40 years ago. It was square and had the simplest gabled roof and, initially, no electricity nor indoor plumbing :p.

As I say, I have never risen above that but would really enjoy working with people who actually know what they were doing to build my own house ;).

The kitchen is spacious, choose the layout wisely. If needed get a kitchen design, the RTA Store provides free kitchen design so you can easily get it from there.

Haven't put any pics up lately because the work that had been done was all stuff like plumbing, electric & hvac, so it wasn't much to look at, but now the brick is done!

And they framed in our fireplace. I'm going to see if I can find a salvage mantel to put around it.

We've hit some snags - had to fire a contractor because as it turns out, he wasn't so good at installing a metal roof. That's why it's still unfinished, but we have someone who's going to come out and do the last bits for us. And another little added health bonus from this process - DH lost 25 pounds! He's hoping to shave off another 5 pounds before he has to go back to work. :)
