New members of our family

These little guys were hatched yesterday. Mommy and the children are getting special treatment with their own water and food. The others are jealous.

There are 6 of them in there somewhere.

A few of the others just got the news.

Those other chickens don't look too happy about the new arrivals! They are so cute!

I sat on the coop floor for about a half hour this morning (when I had the camera) and talked to our new kids. Old momma is very protective of her brood. When one of the other chickens came a'snoopin she growled and pecked violently. The other chicken left in a hurry - the nosy chicken is probably out in the garden attacking the tomatoes in retaliation now.
