I think the only difference I have seen is because of sun. I don't plant squash in a certain area because once they did not grow good there, but I am going to be putting a few seeds there in the next week or so, so will be interesting.

Remember that my garden locations are several miles distant from each other but distance to commercial potato growing areas is more like 100's of miles. I say this so as to disclaim any advantage suggested by my TEG-listed location. This is NOT a potato farming area.

I harvested the final 8' of Yukon Gold potatoes, this week. Weighed them.

LSU says that yield for potatoes should be about 2#/row foot. MSU says that average yield should be about 1 1/2 pounds per foot. The yield for my 8' of row was 15 1/2 pounds ... so, sorta on the high end of average ;).

I'm happy. Now, this is a variety that I only grew in the other garden because DW likes them. Production was pathetic! Substitute Yukon Gold for Viking Purple ... got it!
