I couldn't agree more April- to take a pile of kitchen garbage and do next nothing- and watch it turn into "dirt" is simply a miracle, in my book! I find gardening to be absolutely magical!

I have to add this because I sad it to the kids the other day...

"Don't throw those apple cores in the trash can, just run over there and chuck it out into the yard. If the chickens don't get it, I'll rake it into the compost."

Neighbor's kid looked at me like I was the 'nutty mom of the year'.

Then mine would have already called the "men in white coats" for me, b/c my apple cores go in the dubia (roach) bin.
