It's always amazing - how such tiny seeds can turn into such pretty plants!

And we had snow again - this is what we saw in the morning.

I will say I have become much bolder this year about gardening. Experiences encourage experiments, and experiments enhance experiences.

I dug a large clump of 3-year-old chive. Initially, I just tried to pull it but failed, so they look a bit sad and damaged. As they are resilient perennials, I trimmed the roots and divided them into smaller clumps. Later, I will transplant them outside the chicken run.

I am not too ambitious -- 10% would be enough. 🥰

The weather is pretty nice now, so some hardy ones were transplanted.

The perennial plants I divided about one month ago successfully rooted. It's so worthy!
Sedum 'Autumn Joy' - one of the very early plants I bought when we moved in.

Lysimachia vulgaris / Garden loosestrife
I only dug a small clump to further divide. The new shoots of the huge mother clump stayed red as there was almost no sunlight in that corner. They have to grow up quickly to reach more light.

I divided the small clump into 9 pots. As they have much more light, the new shoots have already developed and turned into green.

So much fun!

I recently watched a program from Blossomhill Nursery, and they start all of their delphiniums from cuttings as they don't come true from seed. If you can get them to grow they are certainly beautiful flowers. Your start looks very robust.

Spring equinox!
Gradually, it is time to enjoy some efforts done in the year 2022.
Prunus mume 'Beni Chidori' - the 1st year
I planted another white variety last year, but those two would blossom much later.

I am not fully sure, but there should be about ten all-sized raised beds and another 15 pots full of tulips.

Overwintered chili - I kept three but squeezed two smaller ones into one 9cm pot last autumn. Now, they are all growing well, so I move them into individual 11cm pots with organic feed.

Rose cuttings - they rooted nicely and also moved into bigger pots today.
3797.jpg

I also made up my mind to take some Delphinium cuttings.
3798.jpg

Well, that's spring - many lovely things are happening in the garden.

Two years ago, I received the product (portable coffee dripper) from one fundraising project. I didn't open it until yesterday, but I love it!

We can add a bit of milk and enjoy milk tea, too.
