Well now you got me thinking. How do you know when it's time to get rid of your saddle? Has anyone thought of a way to repurpose it?

I've seen stirrups hung on the wall used as shelves. I saw a really cute coat hanger made out of a post with several saddle horns mounted on it. One of those 'fixer-up' shows on TV once used several old saddles as bar stools. There's lots of ideas online to use the pieces of an old, worn out or dry rotted saddle. :)

Those are nice, I like the trail saddle. My western Crates has a Steele tree, reputed to be a very good tree design. I wonder if it's the same Steele as the trail saddle maker?

I use a Stubben endurance saddle for trail riding. Both of my saddles are production saddles, but good quality and fit my horse well.
