It could be that Carol, but right now hunters are out there killing Moorehen Ducks, and calling them mudhens. Way too pretty to be called that.

So far thistle the lake is doing pretty good for level, but we sure will be needing our March and early spring rains.

This picture is one of my little giant red Mustard f2 volunteer plants that seeded off the unknown looking f1 I grew last year.

Mary, I believe you have seeds of that accidental hybrid Mustard. They make delicious mild slight turnip flavored stems I eat raw, or some fine dip would be nice with them.
These seeds began sprouting late September.

Gypsy baked that for you? What an accomplished fine young lady! Soooo...... do you eat it now or just admire it for awhile? :)

I admire it while it cools and sets. Then I restrain myself and DH to one piece each so there is some for Gypsy and family when they get here after school tomorrow. They had to leave for home before they got a taste.

YEAH Gypsy. I sure wish I had someone to bake for me. (Probably a good thing I do not , or I would weigh MORE!)

@Kassaundra, I wanted to mention how much I like your POW! The Winter Buffet looks almost like a black and white photograph with that one burst of red color. Really stunning!

I have been seeing flocks of cardinals around here and can imagine how much your feeding station is appreciated by wildlife this time of year.
