planting potatoes ?

We have our seed potatoes from last years harvest, They have grown some eyes, should we break off those long eyes and then plant or leave the eyes on? This is our first year not buying seed potatoes!

I left my eyes on... I cut the potato into chunks and let them scab before I planted them. I left one or 2 eyes pure chunk. I hope that helps... this is my first go at it.

My eye look like long tentacles at least 12 inches long!!!!
They are small so I wont need to cut them!
