Pollen

A-choo! My nose gets stuffy when I mow. Of course, that doesn't mean DH will do the mowing. And we have a Scotch pine that appears to blow yellow smoke in the wind or I drive under the low branches.

Hankie handy? I'm ready to mow.

We've been through a few tree pollens already this year and now grass pollens are getting high. Some of those get me pretty stuffy but I think the worst for me is mold pollen. Turning or sifting compost turns on the spigot, or just being outside after it has been wet enough for mold to grow. A mask when cleaning the chicken coop or raking the droppings board is a must for my allergies, plus the risk from diseases like Histoplasmosis or however you spell that.

We're getting close to pine pollen season, when a yellow haze obscures the horizon on a windy day, and there's no point in washing your vehicle until it's over.

I'm all stuffed up. Walmart had their generic Claritin jacked up to $30 for a twin pack, so I thought I'd just go without it. Turns out I do still have allergies!

For the 1st time this spring I think I may have developed a seasonal allergy. Probably tree pollen. Phoey! I can stay ahead of it with Claritin and a decongestant.
