Thanks wailingbanshee and everyone else. I will keep on with the watering this summer and try my hand at pruning this fall (you DO prune in the fall, right?) and see what happens this next coming spring.

Are you asking for apples and pears? (I am chasing new chicks, so am having to post without reading the back posts.)

If so, no, I'd not suggest fall pruning. I'd prune in the middle of winter, in order to avoid fire blight conditions.

I hope that's what you were wondering. :)
