Quinoa well under way

So Hoodat, do you get a lot for your efforts? Is it worth the effort or is it just a fun thing to do?

A little of both. It's a fun plant but in my small garden I can't get enough to last the year. I've yet to see a pest or disease effect it. Even the snails leave it alone.
My rabbits will eat the green plants but it isn't one of their favorites.

I noticed last time i went to buy quinoa at Costco it had doubled in price! I heard that its popularity had driven prices up, and made it difficult for traditional people to afford their staple food crop.

How is it that when you buy guinoa it does not need for the soapy taste to be washed off?

It has already been washed and then re-dried. That's why quinoa you buy in the store will rarely sprout if you plant it.

Wow, I checked my quinoa starts today - they're already up a day and a half after I put them in the soil!

That's fast. Mine usually take about a week to show.
