Radish seed pods

Thanks Steve for telling us about them. They are so delish. I love to snack on them and would almost like to grow radish more for the pods as you get more than a bite. I love all I have learned here.


And I might just try the rat tail radish now....

They have a nice mustardy bite without being too hot. They go well in salads and are good for stir fries. Odinary radish pods are too fibrous for good eating but there are two varieties grown for the pods that are not stringy. One is the rat tailed radish, so called because it has a long thin "tail" and the munchen bier which is a German variety. It is a plumper pod without the tail. The seeds are not hard to find. Most heirloom seed companies have them.
