Rain, Rain, Go Away...

Journey,
I'm sure the weather will get better there soon, you gotta do what you gotta do. I hope all your plantings will make it. Yeah bring the rain down south i think they could use it more than us up north. Yep its raining here today, though we haven't gotten a lot of rain.

Hang in there journey! ;)

Like Ridgerunner, I took advantage of a nice day on Saturday to get the last of my seeds & plants in. I had had everything but the melons & peppers planted. Of course, neither are very happy about the cold weather, but it's slowly supposed to warm up over the next 10 days. I hope this is the end of the cold & rain.

You can send some rain my way for sure! Last spring we had torrential rains just about every day - this year we need more than we're getting. I got up a 5:30 this morning to :watering

I can't remember who mentioned it, some time back, but there were predictions for a cold summer this year. So far this is proving to be true. I've not had my A/C on at all yet. Normally we will burn wood a night or few in April and be done, but we've had to heat on a few cold nights in May this year and most of April.

I've also noticed a shift in the direction of the wind and weather patterns. Most of our storms and rain blow in from the southwest, but we've had quite a few strong northern winds this year.

We've got rain forecasted for 8 out of the next 9 days. We've just had rain, and lots of HEAVY RAIN, almost every day last week (except for a most beautiful Saturday). I am going nuts waiting to plant! I didn't want to be *too* early because of the crazy late frosts we've been getting. Now I'm running on late! Anybody else going stir-crazy waiting on STANDBY?

(BTW, we did *need* the rain, just not all at once!)

I'm potting up all my tomatoes and peppers into sour cream/cottage cheese containers I saved over the past year. This is helping them get a little stronger, rather than getting root bound hanging out in their tiny cell packs too long.

You should see my grass! I could mow hay!
I am feeling your pain, but I was able to get in most of my garden Sunday, barely. My husband told my BIL he could borrow my tiller on Friday and he refused to bring in back until Sunday (and he doesn't grow a garden). I had to borrow my brothers to get my garden in because yes the rain came back. Now I have some green bean seeds uncovered and I can't even walk into the garden to recover them because I'll sink to China. And the weeds are starting to really kick butt in my onions and I really can't get to them either because it is so wet. I still have herbs that I can't get in because I can't work my beds yet so they are in cups still. Oh and yes we have been having crazy freezes to. I check the weather to make sure we weren't supposed to have any more cold weather but it has only been 7 days since our last 32 degree night.

You could send some our way. Our rainy season is about over till next Winter. This is the only area I know of where you can predict the weather from the calender.

I don't expect to see any rain until the end of July.

We could use a good drenching about now.

If I could send it to you I sure would...rain here again tomorrow and Friday...I may never get to finish planting my garden!!! So far what is planted got planted in the mud. Gonna plant somemore in the mud this weekend, but I do n't know when we will get to till the rest and get to plant seeds???????????

Rain rain go away, come again after my garden is all planted! :fl
