Looks like the feathery one is very upset with your cage!!!

That is going to be absolutely HUGE though. What else are you planning on other then the greens?

No idea at this point! But I am sure to have something in their soon after I complete the project.

It will just be a good feeling knowing some part of my garden is free from pests larger than 2 inches.

This Spring/Summer, probably tomatoes, most likely heirlooms.

I have a few heirloom tomatoes I've planted in the bathroom last night. We'll see how those come up. Though I have a couple more months to wait and enjoy my planting.

Wow, SewingDiva!! and Beavis! Can somebody tell me the advantages of raised beds? I feel a little dense having to ask, but it keeps coming up on this forum and I'm curious...

Well for me they just look neater make it easier to plant and weed. Also, in our cold climate, raised beds heat up faster and I can plant earlier in the year.

The beds we made are way higher than necessary; the ones that Beavis is building are more the norm.

One great advantage of raised beds is no one walks on the soil in them.

Walking on soil causes compaction and reduces air pockets and soil friability which plants need to grow successfully.
