Has anyone ever seen this on their rhododendron leaves? Any ideas on what to do?
I don't think so, but I will try that....does it wash off?

Rhodies grow wild here too! I mostly see the ones with the light lavender blooms.it doesn't look major to me and i'd just leave it alone. if it doesn't seem to be spreading or getting worse... if you have a magnifying glass you could look closer at it and see if it fungal and forming spores that could spread and if it is you could remove those leaves but i don't think it looks like that to me from this far away. what it looks like is some kind of damage which may have been from an animal or person in passing and not something to worry too much about. i'd classify it as stuff happens...
sorry i can't be that much help...
i do like the plants and when i was in TN in the hills in the eastern part i really enjoyed my hikes up into the hills and paths where they grew in the wild. i even have a small piece of a branch that had broken off and it was really appealing to me for some reason so i brought it back to my apartment and made what was to become an incense burner (but i don't burn incense any more so it's just a nice piece of wood that fits my hand well) with it and still have it almost 30yrs later (it has a flat end so it works well to crush eggshells).
