When I went to cook breakfast this morning I found myself holding out a strip of bacon waiting for Rhodi to come for it. That was always her early morning treat. I guess I'll have to get out of that habit.
Thanks all for the sympathy. I wanted to keep her close so she's buried at the edge of the garden in her favorite spot for sunning. Even when she got too old to use her one hind leg she would drag herself there to watch me work in the garden.
No vet would ever believe her age and since she was not purebred I have no papers to prove it. The oldest dog record is supposed to be 16 years but I'll bet she isn't the only non purebred to get this far beyond that.
