I'm doing my part by making sure there is a nectar source or two in my garden year round. I don't know where my bees are coming from but there's a healthy hive somewhere in my neighborhood. I save a few plants in all of my rows and let them flower without harvesting. I can also use those plants to save seed. Right now their big favorite is a huge boarage plant that is in full bloom. I want them to remember where I am when I need them this Spring.
They love my Japanese Spirea plants. I started some in the front yard last year so those should be blooming this year. They flower late in the year, so I have to remember to add a few more flowers that bloom in spring and summer along the garden edge.
