@majorcatfish , I know you have used Johnny's Seed. Their catalog arrived yesterday.
I carried the catalog off to bed last night. Visually, wonderful and the thing is quite a volume of choices and info, a resource. I was left wondering about who writes text for the new products. Maybe the question is who edits, since writing text, especially for the internet, seems to be freelancer territory these days.
Anyway, it's professionally laid out but they seem to be losing any easy-going style. Imagining @majorcatfish reading ...
I'd like to grow Ancho and shore up my pepper lose ratio, ho ho ... May well go for their Baron. The idea of a garden industry baron gives me more confidence ... These peppers, "produce better than other anchos under challenging and favorable conditions" I can think that would be a good thing.
However, their Divergent (at odds?) melons, "bred and trialed to withstand the stressors of organic cropping systems" - "stressors?" What? I'm uncomfortable with those.
I guess I've become tolerant of the flowery superlatives and Yankee pragmatism weighs a little. I think it would be better for me to read this thing after 10am and I have arrived at my corner office.

yes last year purchased everything from johnnys seeds.
going to stick with the "highlander" pepper, over the years have tried different types of ancho peppers with poor production. the highlander being a Anaheim does quite well out here with the humidity and is a very prolific producer. plus they have a wonderful flavor to them.
as for watermelons think will stick with a crimson sweet melon next year...
). (Let's allow Bob a look at those seeds, too.)
