@Finnie your tree is beautiful so well decorated. I leave my tree up all year. It’s artificial and it’s decorated to celebrate all the seasons and holidays - fall, spring, summer gifts from the garden and birthdays and anniversaries.
DD's does the same, decorating for each different Christian Holiday or season.

We are all in good company . Keeping our trees up are more than just for xmas. It’s a full time system that keeps up the happy vibes.

for many years we had a macrame green tree with crystals hanging on it in the corner and we left it up all year until Mom decided that she didn't want to dust it so she took it down and divided up the crystals and gave each of us siblings a share. i think i have mine in the box next to the bag of DnD dice.

as a young kid we had an all aluminum sparkly (all silvery and no green at all) kind of christmas tree and underneath it you put a light that had a rotating color disk in it. i remember spending a lot of time under there looking up and watching the changes and the reflections in all the globe decorations.

My childhood Christmas was go to school and come home to see the tree decorated. A few people have said that I was raised by my mom so I learned how to decorate for the holidays. 🥺 My mom didn't allow anyone to help her decorate the tree. She definitely didn't do anything with the outside of the house but people be people. My brother in laws girlfriend said "well you were raised by your mom so she taught you how to decorate". I tried to explain it to her but she was bent on insisting that the only way I knew how to decorate for Christmas is because my mom taught me how. My brother in laws girlfriend gave me a bunch of Christmas decorations and I decorated my house and after I took them down she insisted that she get the decorations back 🥺😳🤬. I have a brain and I imagine how to decorate for Christmas but she wanted the decorations back.

I'm going to try to find the picture of the tree from the 90's. We had 10 ft ceilings and had to cut probably 3 1/2 ft off the tree and the angel just barely fit.
akroberts … Well your story is very familiar. We had a similar experience just maneuvering our Xmas into the house then into the tree stand without it falling over.

Here’s our family Xmas tree story .
The Xmas tree farms near by have a huge variety of evergreen Xmas trees. On a very snowy chilly day the family heads out with bow saw in hand to the tree farms. We all painstakingly hike what seems like miles up and down the mountain just to pic out the perfect tree. Finally ‘Eureka’ , we all agree on the tree . “Yes”! We all shake our heads ok while removing hats, coats, & sweaters, agree it’s the right size, width and shape . The tree trunk is carefully cut while we all were wishing we had a chain saw instead of a hand saw . As it turns out once the tree limbs were cleared to see the bottom of the tree trunk it was a lot larger than estimated. With the cut Xmas tree is hand , it’s carried back up the mountain to load on the truck , then we head home . The Xmas tree is then freed from its shackles from its sturdy ride home . It’s dragged out of the truck carefully by 5 family members. A new 3” fresh cut is made at the bottom of the trunk and removing a few bottom branches helps the tree to rehydrate . It’s left in a bucket of water for 2 days in the garage for preparation for Xmas decorations.

After a good soak the xmas tree is lifted from the water bucket as the newly cut trunk is covered and carried into the next destination , the house. The first question discussed is which door to use to get this tree thru the doorway into the house. The front door with double doors fit the bill and off they go gently forcing the tree through the double doorway. It’s then mounted into a heavy steel tree holder and soon it becomes apparent that the carefully chosen tree which looked so perfect out in the fields of the tree farm is now far too large and heavy to stand on it’s own. The tree holder was eventually screwed to the floor and a cable was added to the ceiling beam attached to the top of the tree . This home made apparatus held the 20’ tree from falling over. It was a team effort and a round of applause was in order for everyone involved. As we all toasted to our accomplishments , the battle of the Xmas tree was won by all.
