I would. An old pair of hose would work great. Slip the melon into the open end and tie it to the cage. The hose will expand as your melon does.

Ok...I'm sorry....my very first post on this forum and it's gonna be stupid....but...When I read this title I just had to laugh my ass off....cause I'm thinking BRA...hahahaha...
Sorry...I wish my melons would grow...oh...nevermind...
but seriously...my watermelon plant is just a HUGE vine with little flowers and that's it!!! Pumpkin plant is the same story....flowers grow...flowers shrivel up...vine just grows and grows....

You are missing the girl flowers. Give them a little more time, they will show and then the fruits will.

Yea i noticed that I didn't have any female flowers. Last year this happened to me to and I never got any 
I hope I get some this year. Or I might not try growing them next year. Poor pumpkins.

I wonder if the bee colony collapse problem might be affecting our crops...our butternot squash is more flowers than fruit, and we only got one cuke... NOTHING slows down the zucchini...

I can't wait for the pics of your undies in the garden holding up your melons. I just propped my melons on top of an upturned empty flower pot. The vines themselves spill out over a metal garbage can that's been cut in half, thusly corraling the roots and dirt. I did my watermelons the same way. By the way, how do you tell if a cantaloupe is ripe enough to pick. I never seem to leave the grocery store with a ripe one even though my mom taught me to smell and feel the stem end of it.
