so excited about Weck canning jars!

I took a trip to Kidron, OH to visit (and shop at) Lehman's.

While there, I picked up some Weck canning jars. I'm super excited about using them. They're sooo pretty, too.

Does anyone else use them?

Ooooh those look nice! I would love some! Unfortunately just stocked up on the regular Ball jars because those are what the store had out here.

Let us know how those work for you. How do you tell if they're sealed or not? Just turn them upside down and find out the hard way?

The juice containers look especially nice.

Hello Rosalind! I'll definitely let everyone know how they turn out, though I'm not canning today - trying to finish the fence we are building.

I purchased a set of four of the medium size juice containers. They are so pretty!

Wouldn't it be neat to travel the world and pick up different types of jars from every country?!?

Do they have canners as well. Looks like Weck might have canners. Saw this at the top of their site page but didn't see them in their product line.
They look like the old fashioned glass jar, glass lids and gaskets.

But I looked on ebay for Weck jars and did find some auctions, tho the prices are still a little more than I like. Sigh.

I think I'll check freecycle and post a "wanted" ad on craigslist to see if any turn up at a better price.
