@flowerbug . Someone must have a switch off to my brain, freekah is a good part of wheat. Sorry I was tired when I replied. The only cracked corn I've come across is the chicken scratch, I'd prefer to have a go at using that rather than us soya. (Joking) :)

cracked corn i have seen only as bird feed here. cracked wheat is just to add to a recipe along with the flour. :) corn meal would be for corn bread or more flavor to breads if you want to explore (once you figure out what you like with basic bread making).

when i had a bread machine i was buying all sorts of different flours to try out various recipes and it was fun. it was also a time when i was hiking and swimming a lot so i was burning all that energy. i would make the bread dough in the machine part way (until the second rise) and then i would flatten it out and make pizza with it. i could eat half a cookie sheet a day back then. now i can eat single squares or slices. eventually the bread machine wore out - it was used when someone gave it to me. i probably made a few hundred more loaves of bread in it before it broke. i still have the motor though, it will work as a generator if i ever need one. :)
