After reading about your purple doves .
I ordered two similar kinds of these beans. One are Italian. I got two from Suttons. They are a seed and plants company. One packet is for a neighbour that helps me out heaps around here.

and then as usual for a Sunday night and Monday early morning i'm so excited about having to take the trash and recycling out that i woke up three times (ok, the first time was to pee at 2am - i really thought it was 6am).

mundane?... yep. completely my frame of mind this early in the morning. :)

Don't talk to me about trash

After my tasks with these animals it became time to put the rubbish out. The sky opened its heaven or should I say, the entire hell lashes down on me.
Thank goodness no one saw me with my torch on top of my hood struggling with the trash bags 🌧️ 🙄💦

i am back in the worm keeping again!

today because we went to the greenhouse and i was with Mom and helping deliver things i could spend a few minutes talking to them. i normally don't get out much and that's my issue and they are normally really busy and i don't want to take too much of their time but today they were there and nobody else was around and their phone wasn't ringing and they weren't stacked deep in other tasks so we could stand and chat for a few minutes. it was great as usual, they are both nice people and we enjoy helping them out as much as we can.

he keeps worms and i didn't know if he still had any going but he did and he was happy to be able to give some to me to help restart my buckets again. i'm only going to do one or two buckets.

i have plenty of bean pods for them to chew on plus i will have some repotting scraps and other food scraps for them to enjoy.

i do not have a mix of worm species though and not sure i will aim for diversity this time but it may happen eventually.

these are also the people that have done our garden starts for us for many years and they've always treated us well. :)

ok, i don't usually post links to videos but this is a really good presentation of how primates (which we are one of) might have come about. really interesting potential tie-in at the end you may enjoy as a bit of a surprise, but i won't give it away... :)

So, the flower bug is not a bug, at all.

It's a divergent from a pre primate. Or, is it a convergent 🐒? It, he, she, they? But, I digress ...

The flower part 💐 is of great significance!

sexual reproduction is very ancient. it adds complexity and increases diversity.

yes! very interesting angles i'd not heard of before.

all this warm weather is going to melt all the snow (which isn't much at this point but at least it is white and bright instead of gray, brown and bits of green...).

and speaking of bits of green there are bits of green all over the place from the deer eating the cedar trees and digging down through the snow to get at the grass. hungry critters need their greens! with the snow getting melted off that will give them access to greens in all sorts of other places than the cedar trees. i'm not even going to be looking very closely at any of this for weeks yet (i hope).

the closest i might get is going out to check how empty the propane tank is getting. oh and in other related news we got out monthly electric bill and it's not that bad considering how cold it has been and how much the furnace has been running - i think the new furnace actually runs less than the old one (since it is 10-20% btu output bigger but it is also supposedly more efficient so perhaps it's not burning that much more either - however then we get into the realms of where Mom wants to be warmer so we have the heat turned up more than we'd have had it in the past).

all these twisty little turns in this thing we call life... :)
