STUPID UPSIDE DOWN TOMATOES

I thought these things were great...in theory.

I realised they might not be the best when, after putting in my teeny tomatoe plant and filling with moist soil, I could hardly lift the thing onto the hook!

Then, since I had hung it about 6' high the next challenge was watering the darn thing. And I found they dried out fast.

And now that I think about it Timmy, I had one die as well.

Either way, I didn't get any tomatoes off those plants. They did grow down to the ground tho :idunno

my neighbor did an experiment a couple years ago when those upside down pots started coming out. they had some of the hanging flower pots and cut a small hole out of the bottom where they are supposed to drain into the attached pan. it worked well but the wind easily knocked them off the line they had been using. and they could only plant one tomato plant in each pot. but they could grow any flowers in the top to make them look pretty!

i do know that you could make a pulley system to raise and lower the pot from where you are hanging them. but you will need a very sturdy support to do it!
