sunflower recipes

Help I have 87 sunflowers coming and I need some ideas for processing the seeds.

Soak them overnight in a salt brine. 5 parts water to 1 part salt. You can add stuff like pepper corns, fennel seeds and other stuff to give them a different flavor. I've even added chicken bullion! :p Just soak them in a bowl. After that, toast them in the oven about 250-275 for 10-15 minutes.

On a serious note, Beekissed, and anyone else who gives sunflower seeds to birds, please be careful, and don't give the whole head to some, maybe all.

An amazon was lost to that, so it can happen.

I recently purchased a small hand cranked oil press. Also purchased a packet of Sunflower called oilseed sunflower. I'll be processing my sunflower seeds to make hot fresh vegetable oil.
