Maybe we need to have our own revolution.
Quite certainly I look at it this way....
During WW1 and WW2 how many victory gardens did the government ask us to plant to help out! They told us, as a nation we were responsibly for our own. So why in the last 30 years are we yelling at the government to figure out how to get us more food. We're not stupid, we have land, and wasted yards...
Literally, it would be a revolution in itself to tear up our yards and grow our own. We want to eat, not feed an industry with profit profit profit...
I love this quote, because it seems too many Americans have lost the responsiblity they owe to themselves and their families:
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
For I will write to my senators that they work for me, and I will put them in their place. But from where I stand, I will make my own way. I do not expect the government to make the right choices for me. I can not pay them as well as some of the companies who control them now... but I will not stand behind them when I am asked to vote either.
I don't see why people will sit and cry with their hands out, and then wonder why the government makes choices they have no right to make for us. Personally, I don't blame Egypt for the revolution that is taking place. I wish people in our own country would grow some b... well, you know!
