. . . and the first piece of drywall is hung. I returned home this morning to find the project had begun. Dear son brought all my seed starting materials upstairs for me so I can get planting on schedule.

I asked DH if the stair pieces would become fire wood. HE said they already were! It seems the stairs came from a house my father owned that had a fire. DH removed the burned steps, turned the good side up, and set them in our house as temporary stairs.

Nearly 40 years of 'temporary' and I've been tromping up and down on burned wood. Sheesh! I always thought he'd made them from scraps. I guess I didn't know just how scrappy.

The good news! DS is committed to helping DH with the project. That makes the projected 'two weeks' a more likely possibility. Hoo-Rah!

Did you get them to carry up your exercise equipment too, Linn?

. . . aaannd, do all your exercising for you until you can have everything back where you are more comfortable?

So if the stairs are gone, how do you get upstairs?

Yeah, I live in a home where projects start and finish within years/decades and not weeks. So I feel for you! :/
