one year i was living with someone who had a plate of corn chips and cheese every night. i gained 15lbs... the most i ever weighed. it took me a few years to get back to better.

weight is sneaking back up there now with Mom making too many goodies and me being too stressed so i'm eating a lot more than i should. uck. i hate it when i get too heavy. it makes for a miserable summer of gardening. time to plug up the pie hole (after i make some tapioca pudding to try out some new vanilla - which i hope shows up this week and is good and close to what i wanted). :)

On this day (how would we know for sure!? :) )...

1582 Pope Gregory XIII announces the New Style calendar, commonly known as the Gregorian calendar

It was instituted by the papal bull Inter gravissimas dated 24 February 1582

replacing:

October 4, 1582Julius Caesar famously came, saw and conquered and was a brilliant Roman general. But he wasn’t very good at sums. And the calendar that he devised in 46 BC – named the Julian calendar in his honour – was flawed, even though it was to last for 1,600 years.
