If I had a nickel for every time I misplaced my small garden shovel, I would be a very rich gardener!! I was in Home Depot one day and saw that they were selling heavy duty looking hand shovels for a buck! I bought 5 of them! There is at least a small chance I might find one, when I need it! The only thing I misplace more often are my clippers...They have a red handle too!
Same w/ my dibbler(s) I have several now so I can find at least one when I need it.
i have painted some of my handles and it has helped. as for the small garden tools, since i have several, i have two staging areas where i put them(one is a trellis in the middle of the garden) and this has really helped. old mailboxes are handy too. every little bit helps. jon :thumbsup

I like this idea of a mailbox in the garden for small tools. Beavis does that, we've seen in his pictures. (That's Beavis the gardener, Jon, not the cartoon guy.)

My old rake needs to be replaced. DW got out my old shovel the other day. I asked her why. She says she likes it but I didn't see her use it for anything . The point is completely gone - it is actually a little concave! I replaced it but didn't throw it away, years ago.

The teeth on the rake are really worn down from my rocky soil. I've got another rake - it's old too and the handle is a little loose, so I never use it ;). The head is a little too wide or I'd put a new handle on it.

The people who take better care of their tools say that they should always be hung up when not in use. I don't bother with that - they'd take up too much wall space. Yep, the handles can get a little bent from them standing in a corner.
