Using Vintage Kitchen Tools

Here's my moms old Salad Master. I used to love to operate it when I was a kid. It needs new rubber feet, which I found online, but still haven't ordered.

Old-fashion quality tools like these will always look just like new as long as they are cared for properly after each use. In this case, "patina" is more a sign of improper cleaning and care than age or use.

My parents got it when they were married, and they would have celebrated their 65th anniversary last month. And it got a lot of use!
I imagine it was a new wedding gift? But just imagine if they purchased it at an antique shop shortly after they were married. It could be 100 years old! Just thinking....

Mary

Not quite that old Mary, but it's definitely got some age on it.
The Saladmaster company started business in 1946 and is still operating. (LINK)
I also have my moms old Saladmaster stainless steel pots, still in great shape and will someday give them to the boys when I'm sure they'll appreciate their history.
