DD bought puffed pastry to make tarts with for our LOTR movie marathon. Never made them. The puffed pastry expires today, which Happens to be Felix Mendelsohn's birthday (February 3, 1809), so he was 9 days older than Abraham Lincoln.
I am baking 8 tarts.
2 tarts have purchased strawberry jam.
3 tarts have My grape jelly
3 tarts have My peach preserves
YUMM!!!
I can smell them now!

We made the best homemade salal tarts last summer! We even made the pastry ourselves!

Dunno. DD thought we needed puffed pastry, even though I had volunteered to make pie dough.

No. Salal is a wild berry that tastes like blackberry jam when cooked with some sugar. I have made turnovers with homemade pie dough and with puff pastry. They are both tasty!
