I finally got the battery powered hot wire up around the small vegetable garden. There's nothing planted there yet, except the garlic, but I want to discourage the cats from entering. And Wren, who has no idea that she is not welcome to take up a relaxing position on all that nice fluffiness to keep an eye out for squirrels :/ . I came in for a drink of water and she managed to give herself the first lesson. It was good timing as she won't associate the sting with me. She's giving that area very wide berth and eying it with deep suspicion now.
I also got about 4 wheelbarrows full of customer discarded perennials put in. There are several big clumps of Annabelle hydrangeas, three huge bleeding hearts, and lots of Solomons Seal.
Then I also got some bare root ostrich ferns, astilbe and hosta planted that I had purchased awhile ago and had hanging out in the garage.
I moved a big clematis from the picket fence over to the arbor, I hope it does as well there this summer.
I also moved a shasta daisy that was growing on the lawn side of the picket garden out to the rough shrub border on the edge of the lawn because the thing really stinks when it blooms.
There's so much more to do out there (!!) but my knee is very sore so I had to come in.
