Gypsy just finished the pie crusts. We're taking a break for her dentist appointment before we make the filling. First thing tomorrow she will add the meringue. I do so love the looks of just made lemon meringue pie.

This year the turkey will cook with 6 legs. I bought a few spares so dark meat lovers won't need to be generous and sharing.

Today has been such a dark and dreary day that it's all I can do to keep DH from heading to the bedroom for the "night". With the little sleep I've been getting, the idea of a nap isn't all that bad, but going to bed for the night doesn't bode well with my real night's sleep, again.

My Grandmom on my mothers side hated to cook. For some reason every Holiday she would make the turkey. I was a teenager before I learned turkey can be moist and have flavor !!
Sounds like my Mom's cooking. I was grown before I knew steak came any other way besides chicken fried--and fried to death, hard, chewy and would make great boot soles.
