What type of tree?

I have this tree that has been growing on the north side of my house since before I bought the house. Anyone know what type it is? The flowers have a strong fragrance.

Reminds me of a crepe myrtle, with the blooms on the end of the branch like that. but the flowers anywhere even close to right.

It's pretty - whatever it is.

I definately think it is a lilac from its flower and leaves, also they are strongly perfumed.
