What's cooking and what recipe do you have to share today

i've yet to meet a fruitcake i didn't like... even those ones that people get for the holidays that almost nobody likes - for some reason i do... i've heard them called doorstops. sugar, sugar and more sugar and chewy textures and various fruits and nuts. however the much better ones our friend makes are fantastic and i need to remind myself to get the recipe from him sometime because it isn't hard at all but i really enjoy the results.

It is my Brother's Birthday. I will do some Broccoli, steamed and some potato, baked in addition. Dessert however is always key. My wife has an advanced dessert degree and may take over my cinnamon roll with a candle idea if I am lucky.View attachment 80417
Those recipes both look delicious! Tonight I'll take the ribeye.

When I get my teeth into a fruit cake I just cannot stop until its all gone
IMHO, You don't really need to much sugar with all the fruits added

It’s time for Ranch Beans, a favorite with the guys. Super easy but they scarf it up with steak, burgers, or anything else. Add cream cheese and it makes an amazing dip

Ranch Beans

1 lb ground beef
1 lb bulk sausage
1 can pinto beans
2-3 cans S&W Ranch beans (must be this brand)
1 lg can diced chilis
A pinch of chili powder
Small can tomato sauce (optional, I omit)

Simmer an hour until flavors meld. This is one of those things that’s even better the next day.☺️
