Will This Work ?

I climbed in a clients potting shed window one time -- long story-- I couldn't figure out why she had locked it, since she never had before, and I needed to get her Sluggo for the beds. I wasn't going to go back out the window, so I went out the door like a respectable human would and set off her alarm.

I didn't know she had an alarm. :hide :oops::oops::oops:

Turns out she was out of town and the cops came and we had to wait for the alarm company to get in touch with her, and then her friend came to verify that I was legitimate. How humiliating! And a very loud alarm too, so the whole neighborhood was clued in to my cluelessness.

On many residential locks of that type, all you have to do is remove the door knob as Red described. There should be a flat bar that extends into the turn lock. Remove the bar. The door knob will still work, but the lock won't. The button will just spin.
